Dr. Farahany always had a passion for animals. As a kid he went to pet stores with his grandpa every weekend and would buy more birds for their sun room. Growing up, he had all sorts of animals including dogs, hamsters, ducks, chickens, rabbits, fish, and turtles.
He received his undergraduate degree from UNC Charlotte in North Carolina. Prior to vet school, he became certified as mammal trainer with specific focus on marine mammals such as dolphins and sea lions. He even worked for a time at Dolphin Cove in Key Largo, FL. From there he attended veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, finishing his DVM degree after a clinical year at Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
He has two very sociable cats that know how to shake and roll. His hobbies include swimming, horseback riding, and sculpting.
